Description
For you to consider, a large 22" Baby Doll made in the 1950"s. She has early vinyl head, arms, and legs, and a curl on her forehead. I do not know the maker as she has a capital G on the back of her neck and possible other faint markings that I cannot make out.Her face is pretty with pink open mouth with tongue showing, nice rosy cheeks, large bright blue working sleep eyes with all lashes present. Her eye brows are present. and there is a curl on her forehead.
She has molded hair that looks like she had a wig in earlier years. Am not sure what the former owner did, whether it was painted a light color after hair removed, but it looks like it and it feels sort of sticky. I think I would either remove the paint as the molded hair is detailed or place a wig over it. At the present, the beautiful detailed lacy bonnet covers it. It is silk lined with smocking gathered at the back.
She is dressed in a white batiste handkerchief baby dress with inset lace around the bodice and a ribbon through it. It buttons down the back with 4 tiny blue buttons. Under that is a matching slip with embroidery work at top and scalloped bottom. She has her old handmade pink rayon bloomers and blue hand crocheted booties with ribbon. I see no damage with clothing and it is clean.
All widespread fingers and her toes are present and intact. The body is without damage and is clean except for normal age soil and the crier does not work. Please check all pictures closely as they are an important part of the description.
