Amazing and quite well done antique Victorian habille cameo with a generously
sized diamond accent necklace. Habille, French for dressed up, was a very
popular design in cameos dating to the late 1800s. They were often purchased
during Grand Tours of Europe and became nearly instant heirlooms. This piece
is beautifully done, quite an intricate carving that has a three-dimensional,
touchable quality. Well rendered hair and face, with draped dress, floral
accents and a clear, twinkly and generously sized diamond
necklace accent. Angled framed has floral accents
and delicate wire work. Breathtaking!
